OMG!! Last week was so good. You ever have one of those weeks where they’re so much good stuff going on that you’re like, “Whoa! I wish every week was like this?”!

Wanted you to share a few things from last week in case you missed it! I launched Pearl Box Profiles. This project is really close to my heart. I feel as a culture we’re always celebrating, applauding, and liking the social media posts of the gems that have reached a pinnacle level of success.

Celebrating people once they’ve arrived is perfectly normal, but what about all the rest of us? Do we deserve a platform? Have we earned the right to share our stories, journeys, and path to progress? I say heck YES we do! Amazing pearls among us that are taking strides, making sacrifices, and living on purpose todo lo dia (everyday), deserve to be heard and highlighted too!

PBP will be doing just that. Every week you’ll get content (videos and posts) sharing stories from beautiful gems with different gifts, backgrounds, purposes and passions.

Last week’s gems

What is Pretty?

My introduction to “Pretty” was on the Urban Bush Babes site, a series of black women from Milan and Paris.
Pretty is a digital postcard from women around the world, exploring how beauty standards vary from country to country. Produced by un-ruly.com, a place created to celebrate and inspire health, versatility, and the beauty of black hair.
Growing up in a small town down south, I wasn’t fully aware of the different cultures that existed throughout the world. I knew about black people, white people, what i saw on television, and oh let’s not forget the Asians that owned the store downtown and the restaurant across town.
I was always curious to know how they settled in a town with a population of 14,000 people. I swear moms had me going to the store at least once a week, guess I missed the opportunity to find out.
It wasn’t until I attended a university two hours from my hometown, that I begin to learn about different cultures. There were people from everywhere India, China, Africa, and other states living on campus and in my class. Looking back, I should have been open minded and connected more, but I was in an unknown world living in my own box.
I guess that’s why I’m so intrigued by these women from Milan and Paris expressing their thoughts and views about their culture, being a black woman, and defining pretty. I was surprised to hear that black hair products such as relaxers invaded the shelves in Paris stores only ten years ago.

What’s so important about Finding Your Fire?

FYFWhat’s so important about Finding your Fire? Your life matters and you were planted here for a purpose. Your mission should you decide to accept it is to live and be that purpose everyday.

Truth is, we are inundated daily with distractions and responsibilities that can keep us out of touch with our “inner-spiration“. Our daily grinds can keep our minds occupied with to-do lists, emails, calls, and errands to run. Once you’re done will all that you might feel like you’ve just run out of fuel.

Have you ever had a vision or goal, but you were too exhausted to pursue it? Both mentally and physically running on empty.

Don’t you hate that?! You’ve got the vision, but bringing it to life can feel like trying to make the Olympic team. #daunting

I get it! Until I started practicing what I preached. I was the same way, too drained to work consistently for my dreams.

There were times when my efforts were more like a roller coaster ride. I would be full throttle one minute. Then all of the sudden my energy & efforts would plummet like the stock market in 2008! When I finally took the leap to stop talking about it and start being about it.

The “game” changed for me. #gamechanger

This FREE live call is going to be far more interactive and fun than anything I’ve E-V-E-R done before! It’s going to be a fun-filled hour (we may go over in the Q & A, but that’s ok!). Let’s party with a purpose!

I’ll not only share the game changing tips I’ve learned from the best of the best in the self-development world. More importantly, for you I’m going to break it down into nice little chunks that you can take and make them work in your life the NEXT day. #instantgratification

No more waiting for months to see results! Think of it as the easy and simple way to not only find your FIRE, but keeping those flames going.

When is it all going down? Great question.

Thursday, July 9th at 8pm est

Want to get in on it? Here’s how…

  1. Get registered
  2. Be sure to mark your calendar
  3. Grab a notebook (you’ll definitely want to take notes)
  4. Be open minded

That’s it! Easy enough, right? I can’t wait to connect and share these game-changing tips with you!

BTW…please note that there will be hip-hop and dancing too 😉

Know Your Self Worth

Pretty Motivated Know Your Worth
I used to look for my worth in relationships with men, in accomplishments, in clothes, shoes, and handbags. I would go to the mall swiping my card as if I could buy my worth. It all worked for a while. Then, something would happen and I’d find myself maxed out and emotionally bankrupt.
They say no pain, no gain. Well, all that pain. All those disappointments pushed me. The pain from feeling like I wasn’t enough pushed me to want a breakthrough. To fight for freedom from my emotional struggles. To move above and beyond my emotional limitations. I wasn’t just disappointed in other people that I’d felt let me down. Mostly, I was disappointed in myself.
Deep down I knew I was worth more than I was giving myself credit for. And I knew that I had some serious healing work to go through. I had to get over hurts from my past. I have to forgive myself for the mistakes that I’ve made in my search for self worth.
Self worth comes from self. Duh?! I know, this seems like common sense. Unfortunately, so many of us walk around waiting for people and conditions to validate our worth. You may be waiting for that stamp of approval to say “I’m worth it!”. Significant others, jobs, titles, social media likes, and money don’t make you worthy.
You are already worth it! The simple idea that you’re breathing says that some force that is larger, stronger, bigger and more powerful than any human believes you are worth life. No matter what you’ve done or what’s been done to you. You are always worthy. It’s not something you earn. You’re born this way!

#ICYMI Takeoff Thursday

In case you missed it….

Have you registered for Takeoff Thursday’s yet?

Last night’s call was all about T-I-M-E. No matter what you envision for your next level, the better you work the clock the faster you’ll takeoff!

hackathon (5)

Time is the one thing that levels the playing field. How we use it is what separates the good from the great! Have you ever had a day when you were totally on it? You were busting things out and making it ALL happen ALL day. How did you feel? You felt good, right? Like you were absolutely, unstoppable I know that feeling too!

Once I started living my life based on the tips that I share with you in this recording. The game changed for me, my life changed. I’ve been able to do the “mostest” (it’s not really a word, but anywho lol.) Part of launching to the next level in your career, business, body and relationships is about making the most of every set of 24 hours.

I did not learn this all over night! I read books, I listened to audio programs, took online courses and attended seminars by some of the top coaches and selfie-development gurus in the industry. If you got something out of this and you find your self wanting to dive a bit deeper. Check out the list below to see some of my favorite time management books and programs.

My favorite time management books:

Eat That Frog by Brian Tracy

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey

The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss

Time Power: A Proven System for Getting More Done in Less Time Than You Ever Thought Possible by Brian Tracy

The Time of Your Life Program by Tony Robbins

BTW…next week’s call will be all about ENERGY!  #TAKEOFF
