I’m obessed with this stuff. In my opinion, it’s an elixir of life. Whoa, strong statement! I know right, but it’s my go to for so many things. Energy low, got brain fog, stomach hurts?. Have some Kombucha. That’s my philosphy. My favorite is the GTS Brand Trilogy flavor, but I’m always dipping and dabbing in other brands and flavors.
I was introduced to this fizzy effervescent uber healthy drink was back in 2010. I remember sitting getting my locs started, (which took eight hours!!) anyhow. My hair dresser urged me to give it a try. In her cute light voice she urged me, “Katrina, you have to try it, it’s so good for you. It’s good for your skin and so many other things you’ll love it!” Well, she was right, I’m all about that Kombucha life!
In a typical week, I’m drinking at least 3 or 4 of this bottles of goodness. If I’m in detox mode I have a couple in a day. What exactly is Kombucha anyway? It’s fermented tea. Typically, it’s black or green tea based. The caffeine from the tea is pretty much eliminated in the fermenting stage. What’s left are amino acids, antioxidants, and probiotics.
I’m all about gut health! Gut health is the main reason I stick to an plant-based diet. Kombucha is a vegan friendly drink, plus it is filled with probiotics. Those tiny little micro-organisms keep our digestive trains moving. Did you know that digestion is one of the most energy consuming processes in the body? Ain’t nobody got time for sluggish digestion! Better digestion, equals more energy to workout, hangout or finally pick up the pace on that side hustle project.
